Book Club: The Lovely Bones by Alice Sebold
AVID II is going to participate in a book club! The book we are reading first is The Lovely Bones by Alice Sebold. Participation is voluntary, but active participants will receive extra credit. Our goal is to complete most of the book before the movie opens on January 15th. Post a comment if you plan on joining us.

ReplyDeleteWOW! I have only read chapter 1 and I am hooked! I love that the narrator is the young girl that was killed--I love her already! I am holding back some comment so I can hear from more of you. Can't wait to see what you have to say!
ReplyDeleteI can't put this book down! I was actually finished with chapter 2, not chapter 1 when I blogged yesterday. I don't want to blog alone...hint-hint!

ReplyDeleteLets try this again lol. Its kind of takin by surprise that instead of sayin I never saw her in heaven Susie says I never saw her in my heaven. Leading you on to believe that she believes there isn’t just one heaven. Its true what she says if he hadn’t had been someone she knew she most likely would have just kept on her way but since she knew him he already had one advantage going for him. He commits this horrible crime and then has the nerve to say to her mom I heard bout it wats ur daughters name. that wasn’t to smart calling himself a bastard. Lol like the way the light is described and then it says how the light changed when he was rapping her and how because of it she couldn’t tell his features to well. That’s just so SCREWED how he rapes her and then he chops her up and then one of her body parts is taken back by a DOG!!!!! This man needs to be chopped up himself. Was there others he killed before her? He built this death trap knowing all of its intended purposes!!! HE IS A SCUM BAG TO CHECK IF SHE IS A VIRGIN THAT DOESN’T FREAKIN CONCERN HIM WAS HE THAT NEEDING THAT HE HAD TO FIND A LITTLE GIRL TO FULFILL HIS DESIRES. That’s something that has changed for the better now girls can be tuff and be able to fight without being dubbed butch. That should feel sick to be raped and on top of that to be raped in a hole where no one can hear ur screams. He just makes me sick to my stomach she was an innocent girl trying to make her way home and trying to be someone in life and before she even really got to experience it he cut it short.—ch.1 reactions
ReplyDeleteI wont to join this blog I have began reading and I really like it. I was pretty mad when I read about what happened to Susie. This Book really shows you how sick men can be in the world that we live in and how they can just go about and make you think there so innocent.
